Offered for sale is this highly regarded and very well reviewed cassette deck from Yamaha, the KX-580 Special Edition.
The KX580SE is the successor to the KX-580, the 3 time winner of What Hi-Fi Magazine’s Best Cassette Deck award. The SE is UK specified and features CD to tape synchronized record start, timer record / play, new audiophile components in both the dolby and audio output stages, two – motor stable transport, Dolby HX pro dynamic bias servo, auto tape tuning and improved power supply. Furthermore it benefits from Dolby S noise reduction, the last hurrah of the compact cassette format.
It is easy to use and is well presented as a full size component in black with a tidy fascia and nice orange lit display, complete with electronic VU meters. As with all Yamaha decks Ive had it sounds superb, understandable when you consider it retailed at about 250.
This example is in A1 electronic/mechanical condition with only the most minor of cosmetic imperfections, commensurate with age. Although they didnt really need it I have cleaned the heads, capstan and pinch roller prior to sale and they are now spotless. It performs perfectly with very fast rewind and fast forward and flawless recording and playback. Original user manual included.
