The Yamaha YP-D7, released in 1978 during the “Golden Era” of Japanese audiophile equipment, is a highly-respected direct-drive turntable that was released exclusively in Japan. The YP-D7 was created with three primary goals: high rotational accuracy, high sensitivity, and low interference from vibrational noise.
The YP-D7 uses a DC Hall motor with an FG servo control circuit to drive the 30 cm aluminium platter. The tonearm and headshell features some nice innovations, including an advanced counterweight mechanism (increasing stylus sensitivity) and a low-weight high-rigidity headshell.
The YP-D7 offers exceptional performance by virtue of its robust and unerring construction, as expected from Yamaha.
