Description / Specifications:
The Wilson Benesch Square series is a new entry level range from one of the very finest loudspeaker manufacturers available today. Usually concentrating on materials such as aluminium and carbon fibre, Wilson Benesch developed the Square series with the more common square box design, keeping costs down. Having said that, the drive units used are still the same grade as those from their more expensive award winning designs, retaining the familiar Wilson Benesch family sound.
The range was designed after understanding the shortcomings of the square box, and then exploiting the stronger points of this design. An Assisted Bass Radiator (ABR) is mounted in the rear of the cabinet where most of the energy and impact of a loudspeaker collects, and puts to better use the vast waste of energy travelling rearward from the drive units. Because of this, the Square series can be mounted close to a rear wall without suffering the usual problems of bass boom produced by most loudspeaker designs, which would normally affect a speakers transparency and detail level.
The implementation of this design and technology results in a very open and detailed sound. Their tight, fast bass is suited to almost any music genre, revealing subtle nuances comparable to designs costing much more.
Luxuriously finished in piano Gloss Black, Burr Walnut Gloss, Maple Satin and Cherry Red, they’re just as much a joy to see as they are to hear, which puts the final finishing touches one of the best sounding loudspeaker ranges we’ve heard for a very long time.
