VINTAGE PHILIPS RECORD PLAYER – SPARES / REPAIR (GOOD CARTRIDGE)
As pictured, a vintage 1960s or 1970s Philips record player, for spares / repair.It powers up and the amplifier appears to be working as I can hear it gently hum as the volume is increased. However, there was no sound from the cartridge, but the cartridge has been tested good on another set. On investigating, it seems the cartridge wiring beneath the record deck has come away and needs re-soldering.The turntable turns but the speeds are slow and the ‘auto’ needs attention. I think it just all requires lubrication and putting back into regular use.It will surely require a new stylus.The tall spindle is missing but this is used in other Philips players so sourcing a replacement should not be difficult. There is a built in small stub for playing singular records. The mat has gone hard. I have pointed out all the negatives but on the positive side, the covering used on this is thick and of good quality so you will be able to scrub it clean quite easily. Just one small chip (pictured) to the plastic. An excellent project.Sold as NOT working and sold as seen.No returns. I am unable to offer collection due to the current situation so postage with courier only.
