This was my Dad’s old CD player from about 1986. From memory it uses the original Phillips 16 bit 4x oversampling DAC.
It reads CD’s OK but one of the output channels doesn’t work at all and the other sounds very tinny. My best guess is that there are electrolytic caps in the signal chain and they’ve lost their capacitance over the decades.
The headphone output still works but sounds like it has a noisy potentiometer (it’s crackly)
The drawer works but is a bit noisy in operation
The cosmetic condition shows its age – the top cover is pretty scuffed.
Other than that, I think someone who knows their stuff would have a good chance of restoring it.
I will combine postage with my other CD player if you request an invoice before paying. If you go ahead and pay for them both I cannot combine the postage
Thanks for looking
