Vintage Hi-Fi BeoLab Penta Mk 1 active loudspeakers Bang and OlufsenIconic statuesque speakers designed by Lindinger-Loewy for Bang and Olufsen Denmark; these were innovative, pioneering Hi-Fi products, and top of the range when introduced in the late 1980s. Featuring a unique five-sided cabinet (to prevent distortion caused by reflection of sound waves experienced in conventional box-shaped loudspeakers) and integral BeoLab 150 amplifier, they are clad in brushed stainless steel panels with bronze trim and dark brown frets, and stand 1.65m high. These are imposing objects which make a real statement in any room. With nine individual loudspeakers vertically positioned in the cabinet, they are powerful too with 200Watts music power handling capacity. These speakers are renowned for their deep bass and clear-sounding midrange producing a much richer sound than most modern speakers. This pair of speakers are Mark 1s, and feature a display panel showing the source and volume in discrete orange lettering. Note : this sale includes two Speakerlink cables of 5m length. Condition : these speakers are in generally good condition, the metal panels are smooth and the frets intact (although there is a small (almost unnoticeable) area of wear at the top of one. The amps and light displays are both working. The speakers themselves have not been recently tested. Therefore these speakers are sold as for spares or repair. These speakers will complement a classic, minimalist Bang and Olufsen Hi-Fi,unit such as the BeoCenter 9000 series with combined CD-AM/FM Radio and Cassette.
