This is an auction for a used pair of B&W DM1 speakers in good condition.
Serial # 9459/9460.
They are small bookshelf speakers, and will also work well on stands.
In generally very good condition, the cabinets have some minor knocks and marks. The undersides have marks and scratches where they have been moved on and off of stands over the years.
The grille fabric is in fair condition for it’s age.
They are a 3 way design using the best drive units available at the time. Bass/midrange is handled by an EMI elliptical unit. Treble by a Celestion HF 1300 Mk2, and high treble by a Coles super tweeter. The Celestion/Coles combination was used in other classic design of that era, eg Spendor BC1, with which this design shares sonic similarities.
They sound amazing (far better than their rather ordinary appearance would lead you to expect) and will appeal to anyone who likes the “BBC inspired” British sound.

I believe Japanese audiophile collectors prefer these to the BBC LS3/5A, and with good reason.

Although reasonably compact, these speakers are quite heavy hence the relatively high shipping costs.
These speakers have not been altered or refurbished in any way. The drive units, crossover components and internal wiring are all as original.
