Thorens Td160 Mk2b Turntable . Condition is Seller refurbished.
This is my Thorens Td160mk2 that I have had refurbished,I have added a modern tonearm in the shape of the Rb300 rega tonearm as Thorens themselves used a rb250 tonearm on their later Td160hd from the 90s.
I have had this tonearm rewired with a single loom and has a separated earth wire was from isokentic and rewiring was performed by local Thorens and linn specialist and has the michell engineering technoweight. I will provide the digital scale pictured to set up if changing cartridge.
I have also added an external power supply worth 350 and regulator that makes changing speed easier and much more accurate along with the motor spindle upgrade that cost 150
I also include a good high end Audio technica cartridge Atptg2 look it up gets really good reviews and sounds fantastic originally over 400 poundland only used for under 50 hours.
It also comes with the acro Matt from funk firm as you can see a few Mark’s and deep grooves in this this was a record I dropped on it sideways. still does its job and raises the platter to meet the arm and provides damping from the metal platter.
The other pictures show the slight imperfections on the base and a slight glue mark on the plastic at the base of the tonearm. It had to be repaired by the turntable expert it does not effect performance and I forgot it was there till I came to listing it.
Overall this is a fantastic well set up suspended deck with a very fluid and open sound.
