Bought this a while back with the intention of giving a restoration a go: within 10 minutes it was clear I simply didn`t have the skills to deal competently with a T/T this complex, so left well alone.

To uncover my technical ineptitude(!) at this task did however require me to take the turntable apart up to a certain point; which I did, which allowed me to take detailed pictures of the internals.

Prior to doing this I had plugged it in and switched it on – nothing lit up or moved (given there`s no belt, I didn`t really expect much to actually move per se); so off it went again, and that`s been the level of my involvement regard testing anything.

While I hung on to every part of the T/T during dismantling, I cannot aboslutely vouch that it`s all there – it looks like it is, and there are no glaring `gaps` in anything I can see (I did look up Google for pics of the internals and all the bits appear to be present): if anything`s missing it`s likely to be nuts & bolts, or very small parts, and nothing major from what I can see {but remember, I`m no expert at all on this T/T`s innards, so may be wrong! – checks the pics yourself please}

Equally, I have absolutely no idea which part or parts are, or are not, working.

So, this is a spares/repairs item needing some cosmetic, and probably mechanical and/or electrical/electronic work.

By all accounts I`ve read, it will make for an amazing T/T when restored, should you go down that path, or represents a lot of original/rare/unobtainable parts should you choose to cannibalise it, or sell individual parts on.

The parts you see in pics are what you get. If you want further photos please ask.

All of this T/T is original Thorens 126 Mark III from what I can see given Thorens stamps, and from other pics available online.

The bearing & bearing housing/shaft look great: the platters spin freely when fitted & pushed, and are also in superb condition.

The main control panel is in excellent condition, has all knobs + buttons firmly in place and the strobe mechanism with cover.

The original springs are in great working order, with grommets/fixings – and haven`t `faded` bounce wise. The motor also moves freely/smoothly, showing the resistance one would expect when rotated by hand, and appears to have all cables in place.

Equally the main board behind the control panel is very clean, is complete, and shows no damage or missing parts – I can`t see any component `gaps`, burn marks, or leaking from/on anything.

I did scrub down the top plate a bit as the original paint was flaking: only needs a bit more, smoothed off, then primed/painted again.  The original base is is complete and crack free.

So, an opportunity to restore a truely fantastic T/T, use parts for other projects and/or strip it and sell bits on.

This T/T itself weighs just short of 15kg complete: so the shipped box will be big & heavy, hence delivery cost.
