This is an immaculate, as close to “new” as possible, sample of the legendary TECHNICS SL110 direct-drive turntable, SME 3009 IMPROVED tonearm with the S2 detachable headshell and a SHURE V15 TYPE 3 moving-magnet phono cartridge, arguably the very best of all V15 models from the “Era” days. All original, mint condition, owned by myself from new back in the 80s and kept alive and well ever since.
The turntable functions perfectly, maintains speed accurately and long-term and is cosmetically and mechanically perfect, including the original dust cover which has survived decades without any blemishes or damage. The SME tonearm is equally as perfect as it should be and includes the optional Fluid Damper, as well. The Shure cartridge has had at the most 100 hours of playing as I moved on to belt-driven turntables, medium to high (effective) mass tonearms and moving-coil cartridges from the late 80s to this date.
I also have the original documentation for the turntable and the cartridge, while the owner’s manual for the SME tonearm will be a reprint of the original.
I regret to say that I did NOT manage to keep the original packaging alive, but am able to pack everything safely for domestic or international shipping. Needless to say, collection in person would be preferred with relief.
I deliberately did not remove the masking tape that has kept all the moving and delicate parts in position while the components have been stored in one of my audio cabinets over the past years. I simply wanted everyone to see these wonderful masterpieces of yesteryear as they are now and, I can happily confirm their sonic performance would be very, very respectable today.
