This item is a Tannoy subwoofer plate amplifier. I have 2 of these for sale but this auction is for one only.
There is nothing marked on the amp itself but it came from some Tannoy active sub cabinets. The drivers in these cabinets are 150 watt (VOLT) 12″ speakers, so I would imagine the amp itself is at least 100 watts, possibly more. As you can see from the stickers they were actually made by AUDIX, I guess on an OEM basis for Tannoy.
They are quite old but are still in full working order. I’ve had them in excess of 5 years, and used them only a couple of times, but they always worked well and sounded great. I tested them yesterday and still no problems. The fact that the drivers (which I’m keeping) are still in excellent condition would also indicate neither drivers or amps have ever been abused or run particularly hard.
The amps also show no signs of problems, no burnt components, or bulging caps. In fact not even any dust. Photographs were taken exactly as they came out of the cabinets.
The cabinets were a bit tatty, and I’m going to re-purpose the drivers so just have the amps themselves for sale.
Measurement of the faceplate itself is 220mm wide and 315mm high.
The starting price is just 35.00 so someone may get a bargain. NO RESERVE.
