Tannoy Canterbury corner speakers
Original 12″ Silver dual concentric drivers LSU/HF/12L and cross-overs.
Both are in excellent original condition.Working perfectly, sound quality is truly outstanding.
These speakers had a single previous owner and spent most of their lives as a pair, so after some consideration they are being listed for sale as a pair…
There are some differences that you can see in the photos.When they are placed either side of an audio system the differences are not very obvious, other than the different badges.
To note:One cabinet is very early production, and has the older, smaller badge. There is some slight difference in the wood and fabric shade. Internally there are also a few small differences, most notably one speaker has an earlier cross-over without cover.
Both cabinets are on plinths, but both also have square holes underneath for the more common Canterbury feet.Plinths were Tannoy factory options. It looks like the plinth on the newer cabinet is less well made, so this may have been done at a later date when the speakers were paired up.
The earlier speaker would have been purchased for a mono system, then paired up in the 1950s, when lots of people switched from mono to stereo.
The cabinets are overall very good condition. Wood is excellent with no notable chips or scratches. Fabric on both is excellent with no damage and only slight discolouration.Original Tannoy badges to fronts (note different badges) and transfer labels to rear.
The drivers have never been removed from the cabinets and have their original sealed fabric covers.
