SUPERB “ALBA 212” VINTAGE RECORD PLAYER – FULLY RESTORED & 100% WORKINGIn Full Working Order FROM KBElectronics52 – 100% Feedback.
This is a superb 1962/63 “ALBA 212” vintage record player that has been fully restored and is offered in full working order and very good condition throughout.It has a TWIN VALVE AMPLIFIER with thumbwheel controls for ON/OFF, TONE & VOLUME. The amplifier has been comprehensively restored with ALL of the original capacitors replaced. Tired capacitors lead to poor sound and unnecessary humming. This now works perfectly, sounding exactly as it would have done when new. I will also point out that ALBA in the sixties was a respectable brand and should not be compared to modern Alba products.It has the reliable four speed “BSR UA25” auto changer that will load up to six records of either 7, 10 or 12 inch diameter, or of course you can play records manually if preferred.It has a genuine BSR X5H HIGH OUTPUT cartridge (these sell for 30 alone on eBay) and a new stylus (needle) has been fitted. This is both mono and stereo compatible.Cosmetically in very nice condition indeed. It has been fully dismantled for cleaning and any signs of wear reduced to a minimum. As you will appreciate for something of this age there are a few light marks but nothing to detract from the overall appearance of the unit which is very tidy indeed. I have spent a lot of time and effort on this so I hope it finds a home where it is loved and appreciated.It has a new mains lead & a new 3A plug and will come with a copy of the original operating instructions for the BSR changer unit; printed information on stylus replacement, a colour copy of a period record player advertising leaflet (that features this model for sale) and a record to add to your collection.
