SONY CMT-M100MD MICRO HIFI SYSTEM WITH MINI-DISK PLAYER, CD,CASSETTE DECK AND RADIO The Sony CMT-M100MD micro system features a CD player withCD-R/DW compatibility, MiniDisc player/recorder, cassette deck and tuner withclock. Its silver finish is offset by an illuminated orange display. This isaccompanied by three jog-dial rings that perform functions for the tuner and CDplayer as well as volume.
The two speakers, which are separate detached units, complementthe styling with a wood veneer finish and silver/grey removable grilles.Removing the grilles reveals a well put together two-way speaker system whichadequately handles the 2×15 Watts RMS output. Setting up the system is simple.Connect the speaker wires to the back of the system; plug it in and away yougo. To use the tuner, you’ll also need to connect an FM antenna and/or AM Loopantenna.
The CMT-M100MD also comes with a comprehensive compact remotecontrol unit. The system can be controlled equally well from this remote orfrom the base unit, with most of the settings and buttons being fairlyintuitive.
The MiniDisc deck supports MDLP for 4x long record and play,plus PC Link technology so that you can download music digitally direct formyour PC with the separately available PC Link kit (PCLK-MN20). Variousfunctions are available on the system: preset stations for the tuner, a varietyof different preset equaliser settings, mode buttons for the different sourcesplus more. The unit also features both analogue and digital-in sockets.
The sound quality is full and well balanced. It delivers plentyof punch without distortion and conveys decent separation with convincing yetnot overpowering vocals.
