SME 3009 Series II-Serial Number 3889. This early split counter weight version is a perfect candidate for a rewire. I bought it in the early 1990s at hifi show but it has been boxed and unused since. For sale as I have more tone arms than I need. The arm is in outstanding condition with some minor parts required. Slight marking on arm tube near the rest (Id explore this polishing out) but otherwise generally flawless. OrIginal instructions and internal box with imperial Allen key (I think its probably original) included. The arm needs the following:Fixing of rca connector (the screen and related assembly are in flawless condition).1 rider weight screw (the weights are flawless).Headshell nuts to attach cart. (headshell is flawless).1 bed plate nut, bed plate and remaining nut are excellent.Wheel for bias guide (seen absent in photo)-probably easier to replace guide. Rewire (on an arm of this age Id always advise this anyway).This is sold as seen but Im not aware of any other issues with it.If I were keeping this Id have a Cardas ofc rewire/rca replacement by Audio Origami and do the above work to make it a first class example of this increasingly rare classic. The above work is barely more than what would be needed with an arm sold as working but unlike such arms the reserve on this reflects the relatively low costs of the work needed.
