Silver Technics SU-V470 Hifi Amplifier + SL-P222A CD Player Retro Vintage Surrey

Technics SU-V470 Hifi Amplifier. Excellent condition, an exceptional example. Rare in silver in this condition. This amp was made in 1990 but still looks fresh today and would be a nice match for a classic silver Technics turntable like an SL1200. Perfect working order and sound quality. It has a power amp direct input, this bypasses the pre amp and goes direct to the attenuator/volume control. All inputs are working including the phono turntable input.
Technics SL-P222A 18 Bit 4DAC CD Player. Good condition, some small marks and general wear to the finish. Good working order. It gets regular use and the only bad point to note is the tray makes a bit of a clunk sound as it opens. I tend to leave a CD inside as it opens more smoothly when there is a disc already inside. This CD player has the classic Philips CDM4 swing arm mechanism, famous for its long term reliability and great tracking even with marked discs.
It reads and plays discs perfectly. Track access is fast and it plays from start to end with no skips.Great sound quality. It dates from 1989 and was one of the basic models in the Technics range but I think it sounds better than some of their later higher end models. It has a high resolution multibit DAC, this has a more direct and honest sound than the later MASH and bitstream players. Includes the original remote.
They look and sound superb together. The silver finish is ideal for darker rooms, it does not dull the room like the darker units can. I can show them both working on collection.
