This amplifier is listed and sold as Not Working/Spares or Repairs.

The amplifier has developed an intermittent fault

The amplifier does play and sounds lovely, with an authoritative sound quality – exactly as K2s are meant to. I have enjoyed this amplifier for the last 5 or 6 years and it has been a delight. It has been well looked after and still looks great – see photos. It has never been abused or played at excessive levels and always with other quality audiophile equipment.

However, it has recently developed an intermittent fault with the power standby function. Sometimes when switching out of Standby mode to use the amp, it will briefly switch on (isolation/protection/mute relays will click through as normal) and the standby LED will change from green to red indicating power up as normal and the CD LED will also illuminate red, which is the default line-in/source selection on startup. It will then after about a second switch back to Standby, as though a relay has failed to stay powered up. Usually switching the amp off at its power switch and back on again corrects the issue.

There is some suggestion on the audiophile forums that this is a problem with power regulator capacitors that supply the source selection circuits, but I really do not know. There has been one repair attempt as it started happening frequently (not a Roksan specialist as I dont have a Roksan dealer closeby), and it was supposedly returned as fixed, BUT it still will at times intermittently fail to power up out of standby – not as often as it did – but the problem still exists, some days worse than others.

I have given up on it and used it as an excuse to upgrade. If you have a reliable repairer or local Roksan dealer that can take it in and send it to Roksan for attention, you will end up with a fantastic sounding audiophile grade amplifier.

I comes complete with original box and packaging, original instruction manual, still in its poly bag and Roksan remote control – see photos.

I have some video on my phone of the amplifier working – filmed yesterday, to show that the amplifier sounds lovely and is working and does operate often without the fault, but the fault does appear intermittently – so some days not at all, but other days it happens repeatedly – cant really be sure of the reason for this as the only changeable thing I can think of would be room temperature.

If you wish to see this video, contact me through ebay and I will try to send this video footage to you.

Thanks for looking and reading these details, but please remember before you bid that because of this intermittent fault, you are bidding on a for parts or not working basis.
