Listing is for a PAIR (2) of Rogers LS 5/9 Monitor Speakers – EX BBCSorry for the first three upside down images! – I didn’t notice until after I had water marked the images.This pair are EX BBC, They have the BBC WS (World Service) sticker on them, The have an XLR input connector – If you require help with that just ask. ONE grill has the silver rogers logo still in place other logo is missing.COSMETICALLY please note one bottom front corner has taken a small knock at some point, See the image with my LITTLE FINGER as size indication, damage area is about 1cm x 1cm underneath the grill on the corner, Cabinets are in very good condition – Usually the EX BBC units are well used – These are in very good overall condition, They were in a fixed studio installation and were NOT part of the OB (outside broadcast) kit that gets hammered! You should however expect some age / use related marks. These are USED items.
PLEASE READ IN FULL – Images are of actual speakers, A functional sine test went fine, no unwanted noises. ONE bass cone has a small ripple in the surface in four places, also a couple of marks on that cone. The cone does not rub it is OK. (If you want a perfect pair message me I can set up another listing for you, But the price is much higher!) – Price of this listing reflects this cone issue and is the cheapest pair of LS 5/9’s I’ve listed, and more importantly cheaper than any pair I have sold.These cabinets have side mounting points for a “tilting yoke” style stand, some of the hole covers are missing. STANDS are not included but please ask if you require them, I have LS 5/9 with mono block amps, with stands, with amps and stands – the stands for the amped pairs are slightly larger base for stability. I do also have pairs in ‘natural wood’, I have one pair left of LS 5/9 and quad amps the larger brother to the speakers in this listing – I have sold ALL my Rogers (and other brand) LS5/3a speakers.
PLEASE NOTE, Without question if you are thinking of buying a pair of LS3/5a then do give your ears a treat and buy a pair of 5/9’s instead, not just mine! any pair, You will thank me – The 3/5a have a well known cult following and often fetch high prices, frequently above the LS5/9’s price, The 3/5a are by definition a ‘general use’ speaker, the 5/8 and 5/9 were by BBC definition ref studio grade and without question far higher quality – more responsive to leading edge transient peaks, larger frequency response, better cabinet all round a much higher quality speaker and yes I have had many of all the range.Cabinets size 18 x 11 x 11 inches – 18 inches tall OR 460 x 280 x 280 mm 460 mm tall OR 46 x 28 x 28 cm! 46 cm tall – Excellent for front pair on stands, A nice size for rears.
The LS 5/9 is being remade and TODAY is available at 3499 a pair – The pair for sale in THIS LISTING are the original BBC specification Rogers units NOT the remake.
SHIPPING Price is higher than normal as these require additional packing for shipping.
