RED / GREEN 1963 “PAM” VINTAGE RECORD PLAYER – SERVICED / IN WORKING ORDER

This is a 1963 “PAM” record player that is offered in working order, complete with a new cartridge and stylus.
PAM was, I believe, a division of the EKCO company, certainly the amplifier is the same as in my “Ekco Teenager” record player, with a single EL84 valve and rotary VOLUME and TONE controls. The amplifier has had a basic health check and capacitors changed as necessary.
It has a four speed BSR UA14 auto-changer which plays 16, 33, 45 and 78 rpm. Stack up to six records or play records manually. Checked, adjusted and working correctly on all four speeds. The rubber mat has hardened but I have left it in situ to retain originality as it does not affect operation.
I have fitted a new stereo cartridge and stylus. This is a medium output cartridge, originally this would have been fitted with a high output cartridge so the volume is not quite as loud as it would have been when new, but it is perfectly acceptable and has practically no hum even with the controls set to maximum. It also has a particularly nice sound output thanks to the original high quality RCA elliptical speaker unit.
Cosmetically, I have lightly cleaned this but it could be improved upon. The colours are quite faded/stained and the grille cloth has seen better days, however I am pricing this accordingly considering that the amplifier has been checked over, deck checked, new cartridge and stylus fitted and also a new mains lead and plug fitted.
It comes with a copy of the original instruction leaflet for the auto-changer, printed information on stylus replacement, a copy of a period record player leaflet and a free record so that you can play your record player as soon as you receive it.
