Rare ‘Class A’ 40W per channel or thereabouts stereo power amplifier ‘hand crafted in California’ (so it says on the tin). This is a transistor Class A amplifier, not a valve/tube one!Photos to follow. (EBay seems to have disappeared the ones from the original listing.)Since this is a little-known amp (to say the least) I refer you to the photos (to follow) of the only review I ever managed to trace. (Unfortunately, eBay won’t let me upload a pdf.) This power amp partnered a valve pre-amp which sold separately recently. This amp’s been little used over the years, having been kept as a spare for my recording studio. . .to be honest, more to impress the odd visiting band member I could work with genuine Californian Class A valve sound, without any fake digital mucking about, than for frequent use. When not required to impress (most of the time!) it was kept boxed and in dry storage.Haven’t used it for a few years, except to check it was still OK once or twice a year, but it’s been powered up and connected before listing, and works just as it did when new. I’ll supply a standard UK plug IEC cable for it. (It’s UK/EU voltage: 230/240V.)Relisted due to winning top two bidders having hoped to win the pre-amplifier as well last time . . .and decided they didnt want just the power amp alone. The BIN price reflects the higher bidding last time. All offers will be considered, but please be aware that for the next few days I am somewhere the internet connection is intermittent and the wi-fi connection unreliable, so please wait for a response, it’s unlikely to be immediate.
A few notes:First, the ‘Charge’ LED no longer seems to light up. But since it always did on power-on and never went off until power off as far as I remember, I never understood what it was supposed to show anyway.Second: it does need a little caution in handling; it’s heavy and the heatsink fins are a bit sharp in places.Third: as you can (will, hopefully) see from the internal photo, this is a pretty simple, uncomplicated Class A design, so should it ever need servicing that should be a lot easier and a lot less complicated than most. . .Fourth: Because of the weight, shipping is a bit expensive, though I’ll do my best to find as reasonable a price as I can.Its UK voltage (240/240V AC). Please note: If you are outside the EU, except for Australia, North America or New Zealand, please do not bid. if you do your bid will be removed. Also: as a result of a bit of an accident recently, I may have to ask someone else to arrange a courier; this will probably take more than the usual three days, so please do not buy or make an offer if you cannot wait.
