For Sale: Radsone Earstudio ES100 – light use – mainly indoors.
On Firmware version 1.4.2
The unit is in near mint condition and delivers excellent sound quality / streaming and it is extremely versatile and configurable when used in conjunction with the App and firmware updates.
It is:
– A Bluetooth Receiver.
– A Digital Analogue converter (for use with a Computer & some phones).
– An amplifier / pre-amp.
Reason for sale: I have mainly used this as a DAC/Amp for my computer, but I am looking to upgrade to a desktop DAC/AMP combo and I have a replacement Bluetooth Receiver on the way for on the go.
The sound quality is excellent and you can use 2.5mm TRRS balanced cables as well as standard 3.5mm cables / headphones / earphones. The App allows you to configure the EQ and do all other sorts of weird and wonderful things!
The unit has been upgraded to firmware 1.4.2 which allows it to decode 24bit from Apple Mac computers (see photo). The new firmware (2.0.1) is available, but you cannot rollback the firm ware once you do this upgrade…
According to Radsone FW 2.0.1 provides:
– Bluetooth 5.0 support
This new firmware based on Bluetooth 5.0 would provide more secure and stable operations though it is nothing to do with sound quality.- EQ filter precision enhancement; double precision- Fixed an occasional freezing issue when changing EQ filter presets- 2.5mm 1x voltage mode output volume level adjustment
3.5mm 1x, 2x current mode and the 2.5mm 1x voltage mode now provide the same output level at a give analog volume.
– Minor bug fixes
