The new Quad II-forty has used larger output valves, KT88s replace the KT66s and the power supply is more sturdy, utilising a 5U4G rectifier valve. The input valves on the new Quad II forty are so good that they are military grade 6SH7s instead of the previous EF86s.Lifetime UseAll Quad products are expected to last a lifetime, or even longer. Many Quad buyers are still using their original amplifiers, that were built over half a century ago, and they still derive immense pleasure listening with them. This new amplifier from Quad, is no exception, it has the ability and quality to last 50+ years.
