Quad II (2) Power Amplifier for sale along with GEC KT66 & Mullard Valves Serial No. 26652.
This was serviced in 2010 by EFG London Ltd since that time it has had no more than 10 hours of use and has been stored in the attic for the last decade unused. There is a (removable) sticker on the front panel for Sound Distinctive Ltd which would suggest the amp was serviced by said company before I acquired it. This Quad II has been well looked after. I have powered up and all valves light up beautifully but would strongly recommend the amp is checked over by a professional before further regular use.The amp comes with 2 x GEC KT66 valves (rare smoked glass and brown base), 2 x Mullard EF86 and 1 x Mullard GZ32.Also included is the earthed power lead and RCA adaptor for use with a preamp other than the Quad 22.The sound was incredible from these amps when I was using them but when my young son came along and his hands started getting inquisitive these were retired from use and have been in storage ever since. Im sure you know the valves run hot on these amps.I have a spare valve for each type so will include an additional 1 x KT66, EF86 and GZ32 in the sale.I am not prepared to post unless the buyer wants to provide suitable packaging. These are heavy and delicate however I would be prepared to drive a reasonable distance for a small fee to cover time and petrol.Collection from my home in Greenwich SE London is the preferred option.
