This is a Quad 405 amplifier, serial number 61372, which has been updated and modified with new power supply capacitors and main boards. The inputs are now RCA phono as well as the original DIN. An on/off switch has been added and the loudspeaker outputs have been updated. I bought this amplifier along with two others for a surround sound project that has been superseded due to the space required for three Quad 405s. It was an interesting project and the sound was awesome as I use 5 x Tannoy dual concentric speakers. The external case is in good condition with few marks, except a couple of scratches on the base.
Having looked on the internet concerning 405 amplifiers it seems very wise to have these modifications given the number of recommendations and companies doing this. The main transformer appears to be reasonably quiet and can only be heard when putting an ear very close to or actually on the case.
