Hello, my ribs hurt and I’m a trifle narked, so please forgive the following tone….Due to an inconsiderate timewaster I’ve had to relist,…please, I beseech you, do not,…that’s NOT… bid on this item if not 100% committed to buying,…if you do, then not follow through with sale… I will not hesitate in opening an non paying buyer case, instead of just taking it on chin, as in past with this receiver, Pashley Moulton bike and a few others, and then I’ll give negative feedback….I haven’t bothered in past due to fear of reciprocal bad feedback, but I don’t give a flying one anymore….. I’ve got a keyboard and I aint afraid to use it….so just be nice and reasonable, play the game and they’ll be no need for ghastly unpleasantness and rash feedback silliness..original listing below….  A real beauty this, pumping out an awesome 120 watts per channel..it nearly blew me windows out !!..with barely any distortion, with beautiful blue..”Fluroscan”..light display, been sitting for a few years under sisters bed, in a box mind,…dirty, covered in dust and cobwebs, greasy spots,… I’ve told my sister a million times to shower more often…opened amp up and gave a good clean, and a light spray with WD/40 connector cleaner, left it a few days then wired up to deck & speakers and a glorious sound come out on both sets of speaker channels,…A & B…two phono turntable inlets…tape and aux…..delightful sounding FM and AM receiver, with smooth/responsive turning dial function,…no scratchy noises when turning/tone/bass/balance or volume knobs,…loudness/muting/brightness (for display lighting) all work fine,…both speaker channel display lights dance up and down appropriately and pleasingly when playing a popular beat combo’s music..see pic 3…everything seems all ok…The wooden case is very nice showing the barest minimal signs of age….nothing worth noting anyway…been playing it for a few days now and it doesn’t over-heat,…though personally I wouldn’t put another appliance on top, these receivers need to breath…its a big beast, being…… Width…53cm…Depth….42cm….Height…17cm….if it wasn’t so wide this would be a definite keeper, but it don’t fit my hi fi stand and I’ve just had my Marantz 1070 serviced..Oh well..Please view 100% positive feedback on hundreds of audio related items sold… Here’s the manual………….www.manualslib.com/manual/888732/Pioneer-Sx-3900.html?page=6#manualA few down points worth mentioning, think the titchy quartz light on display is out, as is the light on FM push button, the lo filter button is missing, 4th from left, though it still works, see pic 4,…and my brother in law, the ghastly beast, cut the power cord off some years back SO HE COULD EXTEND A FAN !!!… so I’ve put connecting blocks to cord and that suffices for testing purposes, see picture, you may want to make a more permanent repair…I would….produced in 1980, this was the top of the line receiver from Pioneer, retailing at $800 !!…with inflation and currency conversion, today that would be roughly about 32,679.68p !!…I think…Here’s some more info on this highly regarded item…..https://classicreceivers.com/category/receivers/pioneer/sx-3900Please bare in mind this is a 38 year old bit of kit, and although I have sold a good few vintage amps/turntables etc. in the past, I’m no electrical expert, but I think my feedback speaks for itself.. and you may in the future, want to get it checked over/caps changed etc…though it is working as should and no obvious signs of age related problems apart from mentioned above… recently a fully upgraded SX-3900 sold for $1500…13.00 to UK mainland with Parcelforce, sorry UK sale only,…..it weighs a hefty 20 kg’s, would prefer pick up, in E.18,  South Woodford, London..or can deliver in the inner London area for an agreed small fee, petrol money. re postage.. I use discarded upholstery foam to protect though will remove buttons for transit..so you’ll need a 1.5 cm allen key to put volume knob back on, though if buyer wishes I’ll leave it on…UK sale only.Any questions, feel free to ask….
