Philips CD 650 CD Player
Cosmetic condition is excellent, very minor marks here and there, nothing of any real note to mention.

Please study all photos as these form an important part of the description.
Lovely retro unit from Philips, using the famous TDA1541 DAC chip and also using the CDM2 transport.
Transport has the very cool green LED shining down on the CD as it spins in the smoked perspex flapped drawer front (like Mission PCM series).
Display, perfect with no flickering etc.
Drawer is very smooth, and responsive.
Loads perfect, very rapid response times to all track selection and functions,  shuffle all the usual refinements. Plus it has a very cool pull down flap for direct track access or programming of tracks.
FTS equipped.
Plays CDR’s and copies without absolute no fuss.
Easy to use and operate.
Plays without any issues.

Sounds smooth and confident, typical sound using the TDA 1541 chip, spacious, nice reviews.
Digital out socket,  plus a rather intriguing “additional Filtered output” RCA phono sockets (as well as the usual normal RCA phono sockets) apparently the filtered output smooths off the treble slightly, here is a segment of the review on Dutch Audio classics website explaining in more detail:
The normal output pair gives what Philips call ‘pure’ analogue sound; i.e. the frequency response is flat to within the limits of measurement over the quoted range of 2020,000Hz. Before reaching the other pair of output sockets, labelled ‘Additional Filtered’, the left and right signals pass through a quite complex additional amplifier involving two integrated circuit stages, with frequency selective feedback over them, and a pair of transistor buffers. Philips say this gives “a warmer analogue output as a result of extra filtering; you can use whichever you prefer”.
No remote but sensor works perfect, have used it with a Philips coded remote and it works fine.
Payment within 24 hours please. If no payment is received within 24 hours of item ending then i will cancel the transaction, re-list and block bidder, NO exceptions.
I will pack this extremely well in a strong box with plenty of packing and protection.

Please see my positive feedbacks regarding Hi Fi bits, packing and shipping.

Overseas bids welcome but please contact me BEFORE bidding, i have posted a general price of 70 for overseas postage (Hong Kong, USA etc) but this could be cheaper depending on country of destination.

I will post OVERSEAS but please contact me BEFORE making an offer or purchase, example of a price would be 22 to France, Portugal etc.

UK Postage rates applies to MAINLAND UK not Channel isles or outer Isles or some destinations, please check before buying.
