Thisauction is for a very rare Philips GA-212 Electronic turntable, in really nice.It looks stunning and sounds fabulous. The GA-212 was a high end models from Philipsand was very well received. Thedesign is based around that of all the high-end turntables – belt drive and a 3point suspended subchassis. The build quality is excellent and it is quite aheavy unit. Ithas a very good quality low mass tonearm with good beaings and very lowfriction. The headshell is fitted with the correct Philips GP401 cartridge witha low-hours stylus. The stylus guard is also present. Ithas possibly the coolest speed selection switches I have ever seen. they aretouch sensitive and light up in green when selected. They look superb and are ajoy to use. 33 and 45 rpm speeds are available and each can be altered forpitch. They both run spot on. Interms of sound quality it is excellent and easily holds its own with much moreexpensive decks, beating most modern budget decks by a considerable margin. Itis in really nice condition. The top plate is showing a few wear marks as youcan see from the photos, these are mainly where the lid touches down. The walnutplinth is fine and the lid is extremely bright and shiney with good stronghinges that work perfectly. Overall,this is a great package, very rare now, and ready for its new owner just toplug it in and start using it. Pleasestudy the photos to satisfy yourself regarding the condition.
