The Peerless High DefinitionSound (HDS) Series offers high-quality solutions for multi-way speaker systemsemploying vented box alignments. A powerful ferrite magnet system is coupled toa finite element analysis-designed suspension system, containing a linearspider design and rubber surround. The motor incorporates an aluminum shortingring that reduces coil inductance, extending frequency response performance andreducing second harmonic distortion. A cast aluminum basket provides highstructural rigidity, heat-sinking capacity for the motor, and additionalventilation under the spider that in combination with a vented cone neckreduces air compression effects. Peerless developed the proprietary and highlyadvanced Polypropylene Black (PPB) cone material used in the HDS PPB Series,creating a stiff but still dampened cone that remains stable even under thegreatest sound pressures
