You are bidding on a Pass Labs X5 Power Amplifer, with 5-channels intended for use in high-end AV systems. It is in perfect operating condition and near mint physical condition.
There is only a very slight lateral scuff to the front left face plate which can only be seen in the right cross light (see pictures). I just want to be entirely clear why I’m not listing this as in mint condition – 99% of the time you will not notice it.
Includes manual and power cord.
This is an absolutely astounding amplifier – another one of Nelson Pass’ legendary designs. Only selling because of reluctantly downsizing my system. These amplifiers sold for over 6000 when new.
The X5 five channel amplifier embodies the design technology and refinements of the larger X series amplifiers including extensions of the patented Supersymmetry circuit.
The amplifier uses highly matched components in a classically simple balanced Class A circuit.
The amplifier can be driven single-end or balanced
The X5 is optimized for loads nominally rated at 4 ohms and above. You can run the amplifiers into a lower nominal impedance without difficulty, and we are not aware of a speaker on the market that presents unusual difficulty with these amplifiers.
The X5 has a power transformer, rated at 1000 watts, continuous duty. Under actual conditions in the amplifier the transformer will deliver about 1800 watts for short duration.
