QUALITY VALVE STEREO AMPLIFIEROn offer here is an expertly constructed and particularlycompact valve stereo amplifier. The design is based on the famous Mullard 3-3high fidelity amplifier of the mid-1950s but is brought up to date with moderncomponents and stereo sound. 8 ohm speakers todays standard types arerequired. Connections to the loudspeakers are by good quality binding posts andthe mains input is via a standard IEC connector (lead supplied). Input can beany line level source, such as an MP3 player, a radio tuner, a tape deck, a CDplayer or a record deck (most of todays record decks use built-inpreamplifiers but vintage types may require a low-cost preamplifier). Single ended twin channel amplifiers are builton a specially made printed circuit board. Each amplifier uses a new (oldstock) Mazda EF86 audio amplifier valve and an EL84 audio output valve. Allvalves are unused. The compact design features output transformers of asuitable size to fit beneath the chassis, nevertheless the audio quality isvery pleasing. Thebottom cover is fitted with protective feet.
