On offer is a rare possibly National( although I can’t guarantee it is a National)2-speed transcription turntable mounted on a timber base coupled to an All Balance 9 inch stereo tonearm with a Shure stereo cartridge. The turntable is a nicely assembled andcomprisesof a massive 12 inch cast aluminum platter that sits on a bearing mounted base and belt-driven by a synchronous motor. The turntable because of its massive construction is reminiscent of a Commonwealth or Connoisseur turntable of the late 1950’60’s and mounted on a base. I would suggestthat it would have been used in a Radio Station. It offers 2-speed 45, and 33 RPM, works on bothspeeds, The unit is so designed that the All Balance tonearm engages and lowers down on the record, and when playing normally would liftup at the end of the record, however, this feature is not working, so the All Balance Tonearm it will need a slight adjustment.The bearing is the self-aligning, precision ground hardened steel spindle revolving on a porous bronze bush.
