The ridiculous lies spread regarding ” Naim service centers ” removing these caps during service is propagated because people are daft enough to believe the nonsense that Naim equipment needs to be serviced every 15 minutes.And people are stupid enough to pay Naim, through the nose, to have their Naim gear serviced every 15 mins. Only to find their equipment is returned to original specification at best. Suggesting a steady decline is in sound quality and performance of ALL NAIM GEAR over time, hense the need for ever more regular service.

That Naim equipment is inherently perfect when new.
Naim equipment can not be improved. Naim gear performance can only decline over time.
That Julian Vereker (Naim founder) although a very talented and clever man, was was also some kind of Hifi God.

Naim gear is very very easily upgraded sensibly, reliably, and VERY cost effectively.If this was to be widely understood the Naim dealers making fat profits would loose out.So when it is pointed out there are VERY cost effective ways to improve, YES IMPROVE the “precious Naim sound” quality, vested interests cry foul.Well I’m sorry. Things have moved on, and Naim ain’t what they used to be, and Julian is spinning his grave for different reasons I’m “reliabilty” informed !Those days are gone sunshine, and the dealers who have done very nicely thank you won’t be having such as easy time in future. There is a Major disrupter on the scene, and has been for a while.

What Julian Vereker and his company Naim did do, was commission the manufacture of some VERY VERY Nice cases to put Hifi electronics into. Julian was a racer, an excellent naturally talented mechanical Motor racing engineer, before he was anything in electronics.
But there was always some “new genius” to be coming along to up-cycle, recycle and re-work those wonderful cases Julian brought into being, into something Julian himself, would be the first to freely admit is BETTER than anything he’d dreamed off.
I guess some people would say we should all go back to 1971 when the first Naim amp first saw the light of day and stick with that ( And a very good start it was too ! ). Fact is, I’m sure Julian Vereker would be the first man to congratulate anyone who to put NEW ELECTRONICS into the Naim Nap 135 chassis to offer a cost effective very very significant upgrade that blows an amp Julian Vereker never had nothing much to do with – The Naim Nap 300″DR” (SIC ) – INTO THE WEEDS.As for Nap 500, it never was the best amp was it Julian ?By Naims own admission !

Of course if anyone services Naim equipment they can remove and replace old caps with the new OEM GENUINE ORIGINAL NAIM CAPS. The “Original” “GENUINE” OEM caps Naim currently use.
Or one can replace the old caps with BETTER quality caps from capacitors manufactures such as Vishay Nichicon, or Panasonic or many others.
The GENUINE ORIGINAL OEM Naim caps NAIM OF SALISBURY use are not pulled from Naim of Salisbury’s secret special capacitor factory and are
FREELY AVAILABLE TO ANYONE WHO CARES TO LOOK FOR THEM.
It is adding even more lies to say other wise, contact me if you require a source for other caps or “GENUINE NAIM OEM” caps, I’m very happy to sign-post you to a reputable supplier. And so, you, or anyone at all can service your own Naim amp to Naims original Spec, what ever that is. – Except you can’t !
As Naim have changed capacitor suppliers many times and now many “OEM Naim Caps” are no longer available – are they ! LOL ! So noone, NOT EVEN NAIM can service their own stuff and bring it back to Original spec ( whatever that is ). So it’s going to sound different when they – Naim them selves have to fit different caps. How can equipment sound the same with different caps in it ? By Naims own admission they can’t fit the original caps because they are no longer made !
You tell mehow Naim equipment can sound “standard original “genuine” Naim” with different Caps in it, that Naim themselves are forced to fit as they originals are no longer made ?!
So this idea that ” Genuine Naim Servicing ” will get you back to some mystical nirvana is again complete BS! Naim will fit different caps to the “original OEM” caps, and the sound of the amp will therefore change – won’t it ! Different caps, different sound quality ?! No ?!
These vested interest dealers can’t have it both ways – can they ?
So now, ANYONE -Tom, Dick or Freda, with soldering iron, in a shed, can fully service a Naim amp or PS to Naim OEM standards if they want to. It is not difficult don’t let these idiots fool you!! And there are many people who will help you out with support and advice if you need it. Please Just ask ! And you don’t even need to be called Fred or even have a shed. A kitchen table will suffice and you will be following in Mr Verekers foot prints there !!
Of course you can’t add the VERY EXPENSIVE and TOTALLY EXCLUSIVE Naim fairy dust, Snaic oil and BS, and you are utterly marginalised there I’m afraid, by the dealers who tend Julian’s Grave and have the exclusive access. They are sooo lucky to be in Naims good books, but I could sell you some of that too if you’d like some 😉 and you are daft enough to believe in fairies, BS and Snaic oil !
Naim currently use a 15,000 uF cap to Service 250s 135s Hicap PSs etc.A Sic Safco Felsic CO39 – Freely Available, please ask me to sign post you too some. But only at 15,000 uF.
These KENDEIL caps are 22,000 uF offering and extra whopping 7000 uF of lovely extra capacitance!This provides a super smooth DC supply, greater reserves to the regs and enhances the sound quality of the equipment considerably.
To say other wise is nonsense and what you would expect fromdesperate dealers who want to line their pocket with your money. Making outrageous profits and claims about Naim “fairy dust” servicing, and selling old, RCA circuit Nap 135s at inflated prices sighting baseless, bogus, rude and nonsensical assertions.
