Music Angel line stage Valve Preamplifier. Condition is listed ‘for parts or not working’.
Frustratingly this preamp switches on and plays music beautifully for about 5 minutes and then the volume gradually fades to zero. SwItch the unit off for 10 minutes and then power it back on again and all the valves light up and everything works ok until 5 minutes later and the volume fades again. As the volume fades the glow from the three larger valves also fades (the tall thin valve stays lit). I’m not sure what the problem is …
When working this is a fantastic sounding preamp and it has two outputs useful for subwoofer connections. To improve the sound the three larger valves were replaced about 12 months ago. There is a slight buckle in the outer metal casework on the topside, otherwise this preamp is in good condition. See pics for overall condition. This unit will be securely packaged in its original box and comes with the standard mains lead.
If you are a qualified electronics expert (I’m certainly not) you may be able to fix this fine preamp and get a hifi bargain. However, please proceed with caution …
