This rivals high-end CD Transports with the added convenience of an iPod. This is not your typical digital playback via USB (i.e. packet transmission). The pure, error-free digital signal is taken directly of off SSD (like a laser beam would read data of off CD surface) and then buffered and re-clocked to remove any hint of jitter. UPGRADES:
I have found that the quality of a power supply makes an appreciable difference with the dock. The dock works with any power supply putting out from 7V to 9V DC and around 0.5A of current. If you are after an ultimate experience I recommend to further upgrade to an Uptone Audio LPS-1 or similar. This is a super-capacitor based power supply and is the ultimate even when compared to a more traditional LPS.
On a budget look no further than an iFi iPower 9VDC power supply. It’s great and cheap.
