HISquareTrade AP6.0MOTH RCM/2 – HI-FI CHOICE ‘BEST BUY’ AWARD APRIL 2010BUY WITH TOTAL CONFIDENCE FROM THE PREMIER MOTH DEALER.WE HAVE BEEN USING THEM OURSELVES FOR 20 YEARS AND HAVE SOLD OVER 1000 MACHINES!This is the top of the range Moth Record Cleaning Machine, the superb RCM Pro. Moth machines have been in production for over 20 years and are the without a doubt the best selling machines in the UK. Featuring a forced-air cooling system, this is the RCM model built for continuous heavy duty use. Ideal for Record / Hi-Fi Shops or those using the machine to clean LP’s for others. (Visit the SRM/TECH ebay store for the Moth RCM/2 and the DIY kit version). The Pro features identical cleaning ability to the Moth RCM/2 which was awarded a ‘Best Buy’ rating in Hi-Fi Choice magazine April 2010 issue. This is brand new & boxed, complete with acrylic dust cover, fluid, brush, full instructions & 12 months comprehensive parts and labour guarantee. Recommended retail price is 599. Our price is just 549 and you also get all the free items listed below! The Moth Record Cleaning Machine literally ‘Deep Cleans’ the record by allowing a special solution to loosen all the accumulated hardened muck coating the sides and bottom of the groove, and then vacuuming out both the fluid and the muck, leaving a clean and dry record. Make no mistake – any method of record cleaning that does not utilise a vacuum simply does not work, as the muck is simply pushed somewhere else on the record surface. The Pro and RCM/2 machines are a worthwhile improvement over the original Mk 1, as they clean bi-directionally, allowing the brush to ‘get into the groove’ more efficiently. Gets rid of crackles, pops, static, fingermarks etc, and makes records sound ‘cleaner’ & with less surface noise. Even makes brand new records sound better as it gets rid of any mold release agent lurking in the bottom of the groove. This is particularly noticeable between tracks, which sounds obvious but what we are trying to explain is the ‘CD like’ total black silence. It takes less than two minutes to thoroughly clean an LP. Although this machine is designed to clean 12″ records, you can quite easily clean 10″ & 7″ with a bit of manual dexterity. We now have available an Accessory Kit for the Moth machines, which enables simple cleaning of 10″ & 7″ records as well as protecting valuable labels from any potential damage (accidental fluid spillage etc). The kit is 29.95 and is listed in our ebay shop. This really is an economical machine to run – 1 Litre of Moth fluid costs 17.50 & will clean up to 1000 LP’s. A spare cleaning brush is 12.00, and a pair of pads for the vacuum pipe are 5.00. These are the only consumables you’ll ever need & are readily available from us. We do recommend that following cleaning, records are put in a new anti-static sleeve to minimise any dust or static contamination & we supply the superb unbranded (Nagaoka) anti-static sleeves for 12.00 per 50 pack.If you are a serious vinyl collector or a record dealer, you really do need this machine! Why should you buy a Moth RCM?Moth have been manufacturing Record Cleaning Machines for over 20 years. These are very reliable and hard wearing machines – even the first machines ever to roll off the production line are still working hard and doing sterling work. Although there have been improvements over the years (the most notable being the Mk.2 with bi-directional cleaning), Moth can still service every machine ever made. The BBC have at least three machines in use, the National Record Archive has one, as does Abbey Road. Even Oxfam use them – so you won’t get any cheap LP’s there anymore! Below are some review extracts of the standard Moth RCM Mk2 machine (bear in mind prices have changed since then). Any questions at all, just email.” With LPs getting rarer, many vinyl enthusiasts want to keep their collections in pristine condition. The Moth RCM, used properly, will make your best discs sound better, and salvage quite a few noisy LPs that would have been unplayable without treatment. Your stylus cartridge will last longer too.” Audiophile Magazine “Being a keen secondhand record collector I will be reluctant to give back the Moth RCM and can heartily recommend it to fellow enthusiasts.” Hi-Fi Choice Magazine ” Before I begin this review I think it important to make a few things plain about this machine. 1. IF you have lots (say 500+) of records.
2. IF you ever buy second hand records.
3. IF your house has any dust at all ? YOU MUST BUY THIS MACHINE… Wow! – What a statement, and one I doubt if I’ll ever make again. I suppose I’d better justify this otherwise my credibility, as TNT’s cheapskate, will go out of the window…
Firstly this machine is, as far as I know, unique in that it is available as a kit for around 200 pounds sterling or ready made for 400 pounds. To put that in perspective, as if I needed to, that’s the cost of a decent second hand LP12/Ittok or 400 records from a car boot sale.” TNT Audio http://www.tnt-audio.com/ USER TESTIMONIALS’ The Moth RCM arrived yesterday and I congratulate you on such an efficient service. The machine was very well packed and it worked straight out of the box. I have cleaned about a dozen records so far and the improvement on playback is dramatic. I am really impressed with the results.’ A.T. (UK)” Got the hang of working the Moth already, great results too, am well impressed. Thanks. ” D.R. (UK)” I just wanted to say how pleased I am with the Moth RCM Pro. It really brought the records I cleaned back to life. Thanks, also for the quick service.” D.S. (UK)” AWESOME, BUY ONE!! really works, very pleased 10/10 ” J.I. (UK)
‘ The machine arrived today and I cleaned up my dirtiest 45 / 12 with it and was gob-smacked by the results! ! From unplayable to almost CD quiet in 3 minutes. I’m a MOTH desciple now. ‘ G.L. (UK)
‘ I am astonished. The sound is clearer…. any light crackle has disappeared!!! Phenomenal!!! I can’t believe I have been selling records as long as I have without a machine like this! I would like to thank you for your help and advice.’ T.H. (UK) RCM/2′ Just a short e mail to thank you for my Moth RCM which arrived safe and sound today as promised. I have already cleaned and played some LP’s and I’m really thrilled with the results, what a wonderful product. May I just take the time to thank you for a really great all round service, it’s been a pleasure. ‘ A.B. (UK)’ Just to let you know that I have finally got around to completing the cabinet construction for my Moth kit. The results are a revelation. Some records that I had regarded as beyond ever sounding good again, but which, fortunately, had been kept because the performers and/or performances were of historical significance in the classical guitar world, now sound remarkably like new. In some cases I can truly say that I don’t recall them sounding that good ever. OK, I’ve upgraded all my kit over the years, but the absence of clicks pops is far from the whole story, with improved frequency response and image placement improved, too. Oh, and it’s not just my view. I have demonstrated to friends and family with all the fervour of a religious convert and not even the most outspoken cynics amongst them have had anything but praise – so it can’t be just be a bad attack Emperor’s New Clothes Syndrome, can it. ‘ V.H. (UK) ‘ Amazing machine. Wouldn’t be without it !!! ‘ L.D. (UK)’ Wonderful machine – should have had one years ago.’ M.C. (UK)’ Excellent service – Even better is the Cleaning Machine itself! Top marks for all.’ G.T. (UK)’ Fantastic Product. Many Thanks. The #1 product for record cleaning! ‘ M.E. (UK)’ Excellent service as ever. Great product – every vinyl fan needs one! ‘ P.G. (UK)’ The cleaning machine is working very hard, over the weeks the amount of ‘old’,’dirty’ and second hand records I have cleaned that now play noise free is amazing. ‘ D.H.
