Collection in person only.Recentlyserviced by Bradley Electronics and well looked after, these timeless vintagespeakers are in very good condition. Each speaker has to be plugged in to 220Vsocket, but do not have a built-in amplifier!Theseare extremely well balanced speakers that can accurately reproduce the lowlevel detail that creates a convincing sense of instruments in a real acousticsetting. Because of the electrostatic design there is no dome tweeter beaming. Plenty of bass from the woofer atthe base of the ESL panel. Electrostatic speakers typically radiate sound fromthe Front AND BACK. That means they are more touchy about placement. To soundthe best, they need to be a certain distance FORWARD of the wall behind toprevent timing error between the Front and Rear radiated sound. That furthermeans you can NOT push these speakers in the corner or back against the wall.They need Space around them.Uncoloured reproduction of sound . As neutral a speaker as you canpossibly get. Main strength is Midrange and more Midrange, Soundstage vivid,deep and open. Holographic Imaging, Lifelike sound. Very sensitivespeaker-doesn’t require tons of watts to play well.These speakers are not for everyone due to the need to be placed atleast three feet away from the back and side walls to sound their best and theneed for good amplification/source components.With proper placement (lots of trial and error with toe in and distancefrom wall boundaries) I’ve got them to sound better than most other speakers Ihave ever heard close to their price range (including some 5000+ speakers).They really excel at reproducing a holographic presentation in front of thelistener. I’ve had fun having friends listen to my system for the first timeand seeing their jaws drop, wondering how two speakers can just disappear,leaving the performers playing in the room with you. Stringed instruments makethis speaker sing! You haven’t heard a piano reproduced right until you’veheard it on an Arieus. Incredible detail.
