The unit as is almost the expectation now – in excess ofsimilar elsewhere, carries a Superb Phono Section. *Just as a matter ofinterest we have also owned the newer, slightly more powerful Marantz PM6010OSE unit. The modest power increase of the Marantz 6010 did not show in normallistening AND very importantly the 6010 DOES NOT have Treble/Bass tone controls of the Marantz 4001 here, nor does it have theability to power FOUR speakers, having only Two Speaker connectors! So note inthis case bigger apparently does not necessarily mean better. That all said and,…. laden with compliments as it justifiably is – with tons of online informationand reviews, left to be noted only then, is that this is an excellent unit in superbcondition that looks good and sounds brilliant.From Marantz: **The famous in-house OSE tuninghas it roots back in 1990?s. Based on standard models we have re-examined allcomponents. As a result, the PM4001 OSE gives tighter bass, clearer stereoimages and a wider sound stage.
