Linn Sondek LP12 for sale which has been highly customised over the years.
Been a Linn Sondek owner since 1988 and this has been my second deck over this period.
It has been with me since 2015 and when I purchased it used I had it immediately serviced and got some upgrades from my local Linn Dealer – Loud and Clear in Glasgow.
John Nilsen from Audio Origami performed it’s last service and upgraded the Akito’s bearings to his AO Akito Spec – awesome upgrade and even prefer it to the Linn Ittok I had on my previous LP12. New top plate, power cable and motor was also applied to this LP12 in 2015 plus the usual spring suspension replacements etc which comes with a Linn LP12 service. I still have the receipt for all this work which was done after I purchased this LP12. New Adikt Stylus replacement was also bought a few years later.
This year I got a new belt and flushed/changed the oil in the bearing myself.
I will include spare oil bottle and syringe for flushing/changing the oil in future if required.
SPEC :
Can’t read the serial number on the back of the deck but a bit irrelevant as nearly everything bar the wooden casing has been replaced or upgraded this decade – even the mains cable and plug got replaced in 2015.
33 + 45 RPM playback via internal Hercules power supply and it’s power switch – was an upgrade from Valhalla power supply and is located in the same position in the deck.
Van Den Hul high quality Tonearm connection cable with gold plating,
Linn Akito Tonearm with bearings upgraded by Audio Origami’s tonearm builder – John Nilsen. The upgraded AO Akito apparently better than the current standard Linn Akito from the Linn factory at around 1.5K.
Linn Adikt Cartridge and Stylus – hundreds of hours left to play on it – always carefully cleaned via a Vinyl Passion dust buster and also have the stylus guard for it which is included. Digital Microscope Photo taken and shows stylus being excellent.

Linn Basik Plus Tonearm collar – I gave my Akito Tonearm collar to John Nilsen as he wanted it – it’s the same as the Akito Collar except the writing on it.
Classic Fluted Linn Afromosia plinth in lovely condition bar a couple of corner marks where the lid contacts the plinth when closed.
The lid has one small scratch near the Linn Logo apart from that very good condition.
The baseboard is also customised and similar material to the Vinyl Passion arm board.
The baseboard has 3 metal spiked height adjustable feet and will include 3 rubber pads which I’ve used to assist also with improved isolation and secures grip.
Made my own Linn Logo Decals of the historic changes of the Linn Sondek LP12 logo and applied them onto to the top plate – can be removed if desired.
Linn Felt mat in excellent condition – have tried other mats and Felt mat best for the LP12 and obviously included.
There are also a few spare belts from my previous replacements also included.

I’m having to sell my LP12 due to disability with eyesight/coordination problems and now often find it difficult cueing the tonearm to play so will probably be looking at purchasing an automatic turntable.
In all a great LP12 and I’m sure would outperform the current new Linn base model Sondek LP12 Majik edition at around 3K.
Would recommend collection in person and can demo and then assist for the deck’s partial dismantle for transport in a car – I live just 3 miles from the Linn Factory!
I have the original Linn LP12 box and all polystyrene inserts plus the oil bearing plug so can dismantle the deck for courier delivery if preferred.
Courier Delivery option will be expensive with insurance included but still at new owners risk as LP12 delicate item for transport plus would then need new owner to be able to reassemble the deck or take it to nearest Linn authorised dealer for assistance and recommend also a service from them to get the absolute best from this LP12.
