JSE Infinite Slope Vintage High End Hifi Speakers On Castors Dynaudio/Focal/SEAS Drivers 300W

John Solecito Engineering Infinite Slope Model 1. Made in the USA, were around $1000/pair in the late 1980s to early 1990s. Late serial numbers 12286 (L) 12289 (R). Excellent quality and definition. Their advanced crossover design gives them a level of refinement and sophistication that is rare for moving coil speakers. In the past I’ve owned BBC/Rogers designs with similarly complex crossovers. They remind me of speakers like those and also the original KEF 105. Approx size 80cm high, 33cm wide, 375mm deep.
At the time they were in a similar league as speakers from Snell, Thiel, Vandersteen, etc. The drivers are a Dynaudio D28 tweeter, 7″ Focal mid/bass and 10″ SEAS woofer. The crossover has a steep “infinite” slope (100 db per octave @ 2khz) which reduces cone breakup, wave interference, harmonic distortion and phase distortion. Perfect working order, all drivers are fully working. Pure clear audio, no distortion, no crackles or sibilance. There are some dimples on the domes and centre caps but the sound quality is unaffected. At 90 db/1w/1m they are quite high sensitivity. The cabinets are in good shape. The left speaker has a slight water mark on top and a chip in the veneer on the bottom corner, see photos. On the rear panel both speakers have their inspection reports (audio, Fast Fourier Transform, sine wave and distortion checks).
