The current mode circuit can effectively transmit, amplify and process the current signal. In the current mode circuit, the current is used as a variable analysis and calibration circuit, which has high speed transmission and low distortion. For a long time, people used to deal with the voltage signal, but ignored the current signal. In practice, it is more convenient to use a current mode for a device with a current transfer function.The main difference between the current mode and the voltage mode circuit is the input and output impedance. An ideal voltage amplifier requires an input impedance of infinity and an output impedance of zero, which is beneficial for voltage signal transmission. For an ideal current amplifier, the input impedance is required to be zero and the output impedance is infinite, which facilitates the transmission of the current signal.Simplify circuit operation by using the principle of translinearity. In a circuit, once a translinear loop occurs, there is a constraint relationship between the currents of the transistors in the loop, which simplifies the calculation of complex circuits. This principle will apply to both linear and nonlinear circuits.The minimum value of the input signal of the voltage and current mode circuit is limited by noise, but for the maximum value of the output signal, the voltage mode circuit is limited by the power supply voltage, and the current mode circuit by the capacity of the transistor or the power supply. When the circuit requires low power supply voltage, the maximum output current of the current circuit can be limited only by the transistor. As long as the transistor can give a large current, its dynamic range can be wide, which shows a great advantage.In current mode circuit, no need to take the voltage swing into consideration, the interelectrode capacitance (junction capacitance Cbe Cbc) of the transistor can be placed at the low impedance node, so that the upper limit frequency is very high. Since the junction capacitance is at the low impedance node, even if the current varies over a wide range, the voltage across the junction capacitance changes little, so the time required for the junction capacitance to go from one level to another is very short, then the transient response speed is increased .In the current mode circuit, because the matching technique is successfully adopted, the circuit is symmetrical as much as possible while satisfying the basic requirements of current transmission. Even in the case of large signals, the circuit has a higher matching accuracy, so that the nonlinearity of the transistors cancels each other, and the nonlinear distortion is greatly reduced.
