These are early editions of Hi Fi Choice, which began as an irregular publication each reviewing cassette decks, or amplifiers, or turntables and tonearms. Condition varies from very good to reasonable considering their age.
The ones here are as follows:-
Cassette Decks by Angus Mackenzie, published 1975. I think this was the first one. More than 50 decks reviewed.
Turntables and Tonearms by Martin Colloms. This was no. 12 in the series, published in 1978. 90 products reviewed.
Turntables and Tonearms, with first tests of CD players. By Martin Colloms, no. 30, published 1983. Over 100 reviews.
Amplifiers and Tuners by Martin Colloms, no. 33, published 1983. Over 50 amps and 22 tuners.
Cassette Decks by Noel Keywood, no. 37, published 1984. Reviews over 40 decks, 12 personal stereos, and a large number of cassette tapes.
Amplifiers and Tuners by Martin Colloms, no. 44, published 1986. 50 amps (see photo no. 2) and 17 tuners.
As well as the reviews of well-known classics and many others, some now forgotten, there is lots of interesting technical information. The books also provide fascinating historical information with many advertisements for other products, prices (which weren’t always cheaper in those days), and what buyers were interested in at that time (or manufacturers hoped they would be).
