Goldring’s answer to the Garrard 301?
I bought this rare and pretty deck, intending to build a plinth and mate it with an SME 12″ arm. My circumstances changed and it sat for ten years – I hadn’t even switched it on! Sadly, I can’t see myself ever getting back to it even though ready made plinths are now available, so I plugged her in to test, ready for selling. The indicator lamp came on and the heavy platter spun up to speed without falter. All functions are working.
As you can see from the photos, condition is very good with just a few marks around screw holes and edges. There is surface discolouration on the conical shaft – see photos – I have looked closely and can’t see (or feel) any pitting.
I’m sure you realise this is a weighty turntable, I will lock down the motor, remove the platter and pack separately for a secure journey or you are welcome to collect.
