Ok herewe have a beautiful classic Garrard SL95B Transcription auto – retro turntablec1970I am selling some of my collection due to a house moveand spouse pressure.- (whats wrong with 13 turntables?)There are no very silly starting prices or buy it nowprices, – for inferior SP25 type turntables, and no extortionate postage prices I get sick of seeing these chancers trying it on in eBay.It has been fullystripped and cleaned with modern lubricants used in place of the originalones that were used, which over time turnedinto a glue like substance which jammed everything up, beware of Garrardturntables that have not be re-lubricated this way. It is fitted with thefamous Garrard synchronous motor. It seems amazing that something so complicated (see photo) works so well after 49 years – what a good design.The turntable has 3 speeds including 78 and an autorecord changing facility (if required – will need optional long spindle),as well as manual single play and auto drop down and lift off shutdownoperations. I have checked the speeds with a strobe and they are correct (new strobe disc supplied). I have tried it with Amp speakers etc. and it plays very wellIt is in the original factory wooden plinth withan Acrylic smoked cover which is almost unmarked and it looks really nice and retro.It is fitted with an original excellent Ortofon FF15E Mk2 cartridge with an original Ortofon FF15E5 stylus It works very well with the bias lift lower stylus forceetc. functioning correctly and sounds very nice. (Time to junk your MP3s) – I have fitted a new mains lead andphono leads and the Turntable was electrically PAT tested (portable appliance test) in 2018.I have fitted new suspension spring foams.Of all the Garrard turntables I have – this must be on of the most elegant and well engineered, the main turntable platter sits on a thrust washer on a 4 ball race, and if you give it a gentle spin it will keep on going for nearly a minute !I would rather people pick this item up from eitherBishops Stortford or Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire as these items can getdamaged in transit (have had damagedones sent to me that had to be fixed).However If itneeds to be sent, It will be carefully packed in a brand new double walled boxwith lots of bubble wrap etc.- the cartridge,stylus and its holder will be packed separately, the turntable platter may beremoved and packed separately – (ifapplicable).Enclosed will be a copy of the original ManufacturersOwners manual and a copy of the original service manual (many thanks to The Vinyl Engine website).Look carefully at the pictures and ask if you have anyquestions.Low starting price.Reasonable packaging and postage price
