Skeletal plinth cut out for Garrard 301 with SME cutout for tone arm.
Made out of a 2mm carbon fiber layer sandwiched between two layers of 18mm birch ply.
It doesn’t look much but it is perfectly functional as a skeletal plinth provided that adequate clearance is added for the 301 mechanism. The plinth can be sanded and painted or veneered and also extra layers can be added to provide a normal plinth if required. I currently use such a plinth on my 301 and it sounds very good.
The only reason I am auctioning this is because it may save someone some time and it is a shame to throw it in the bin, so very low start but bulky so will incur postage costs.
