I’m slowing rationalising my collection of vintage audio, this week’s offering is an American Classic, the Empire Troubadour 598 from about 1970. These are a very uncommon turntable in Australia and would have been a very, very expensive way to spin a record in its day. It presents well with minimal tarnish (time has not been kind to many Empires), sits in a new Teak over birch ply plinth. It’s a 110 volt motor with a 50hz pulley and comes with a step down transformer. It currently sports an Empire cartridge with a dead stylus, but I’m sure I can find an era appropriate cart’ and stylus if anyone is keen. It has a new belt and is working well.
Couriers are safer and cheaper than Auspost for most parcels to and from Tasmania. I generally use Smartsend or Transdirect, but am happy to work with any of them. Use their calculators to get a quote to you; 55 x 45 x 35cm, 12kg, pick up postcode 7250.
It will be safely packed before dispatch.
I pack well, post promptly and charge nothing for the service.

I live in Tasmania, a small Island state of Australia not a country in eastern Europe. If you check your atlas you will see I am closer to Antarctica than I am to the tropical north of mainland Australia. If you live in the northern Hemisphere [eg. The Americas, Europe etc] you are a very long way from here. International shipping prices have risen exponentially in recent times, something which I have no control over, items such as speakers are heavy and shipping can be expensive. Be sure to take your time with the postage calculator to get an accurate estimate so there are no shocks at the end of the auction. If you have trouble just ask and I’ll help.
I pack well, send promptly and charge only actual postage costs.
