Cartridge only about 50 hours old when suffered an accident which broke off cantilever. I sent it to VAS Audio in USA (trading as yutubes on ebay) who fitted a new cantilever with nude diamond stylus which, initially, worked great (about 2 hours) but then right channel became audibly quieter than left. On inspection the cantilever had been pulled off centre, contacted VAS Audio who said the anti skate was probably incorrectly set on my tonearm (audiomods series 4 micrometer) and this had “unbalanced” the coils, they could fix this but would mean shipping back to the USA . Please note this is just their opinion based on photos I sent them, they have not inspected the cartridge since I received it back so their diagnosis could be wrong. I did do a resistance test on the cart using multimeter set at 2k ohms and got readings of 139 and 143 so the channels seem quite evenly balanced, the cantilever is not bent and has now settled back more or less dead centre but the sound problem persists.
I have spent too much time and money on this cart and have now decided to stick with my Ortofon 2m bronze as is much easier to live with!
Sorry to ramble on but I think you need the whole story before deciding on whether to bid on this cart, if you have experience with Dynavectors and know its an easy fix or if you have a balance control on your amplifier and can offset the sound then this might be of interest. I will try to answer any other questions you have but my knowledge of MC carts is basic at best.
