Dual CS 731Q – Quartz lock, direct drive, automatic turntable

RELISTED to include postage by courier, as requested by several ebayers. Please see below.

This turntable is insuperb condition as the photos show. It is inheritance from a goodfriend who recently passed away. He was old school and really tookcare of things – hence the condition of this turntable. To that end, even the instructions were put away carefully in a folder – they areincluded with the turntable, along with the instructions from theinstalled Ortofon 510 cartridge.I am not an expert withturntables – but I have gone through and checked everything out.Plays 45 and 33 rpmrecords – working fine at both speeds. Sounds great.Cueing control leverworks.Lift button works.Pitchadjustment control works perfectly – and corresponding lights on thefront of the unit illuminate accordingly – please see the photos(very retro cool!)Quartzexact luminous stroboscope working perfectly. There seems to be anissue with the lateral automatic movement of the tone arm as follows: Automatic start doesnot seem to be working – arm rises, moves slightlyto the left, then drops, then rises and moves to the left again, resting tonearm on holder and switching off.Similarly, with thestop button: when pressed, arm rises but does not move back to thetone arm holder. Arm then drops onto record again and playingresumes. Also, at the end of a record, the tone arm rises but doesnot move back to the tone arm holder; instead, after a short delay,it drops back down onto the end of the record and thie processrepeats.I did anonline search and it seems that this may be easily rectified byadjusting a screw inside the machine. However I am not an expert sodecided to leave this rather and sell the unit as-is. Aside from this issue, the turntable is superb, both in build quality and condition. Workssuperbly manually. There are some lightscratches on the dust cover lid but these do have not even show up inthe photos and are not particularly noticeable once the cover is inplace.RELISTED ITEM – Thislisting was originally collection in person only. Several people havemessaged me asking if I will send by courier, which I am happy to doat buyer’s cost and with full insurance in place (but at buyer’s risk ifthere is any issue with insurance.) I have therefore ended the original listing early and relisted including estimatedpostage by courier. If the postage is significantly more this will bepassed to and borne by the buyer prior to posting – but I am not outto make profit on the postage so this will be by reasonable passingon of materials / fully insured postage cost only :)Happy topost worldwide via Global Shipping Program.Any questions pleaseask 🙂
