A master piece doesnt necessarily need to be expensive, but there should be the perfect balance between price, performance and sound quality. And this is exactly what the ZENSOR 3 does according to the German hi-fi website, AREA DVD.
There is no doubt about that the reviewers are thrilled about the ZENSOR 3 with its compact size and its huge sound with a fantastic quality. When playing the classical trance Outside World of Sunbeam, the ZENSOR 3 performs so great that some bigger loudspeakers would be brought to shame. It is precise, tight and excellent in its timing and sharpness.
Stop this world by Diana Krall shows the listener just how much bass there is in the ZENSOR 3, and the depth is outstanding considering the speakers price point. Furthermore, Dianas smoky voice is always beautifully focused. With Mozarts violinist concert no. 4, K. 218, the sound is sophisticated and harmonic, which proves that the ZENSOR 3 performs fantastic regardless of the genre.

The ZENSOR 3 provides one with true hifi at a very good price, and this is, along with its performance, one of the reasons why it was the testwinner of AUDIO’s newest test.
The technical specifications on the ZENSOR 3 are similar to the ZENSOR 1 – everything is just bigger! According to AUDIO magazine, the ZENSOR 3 impresses with their large and precise stage.
The reviewers from AUDIO emphasize the stereo effects, which are great, for example when the bass drum is wandering back and forth in the intro of “Sun King” by The Beatles. When it comes to the timing and precision of the ZENSOR 3, it stands out, even when playing the very low bass.
PRODUCT DETAILS
We have designed the cabinet so that it is large enough to deliver a sufficient, controlled and deep bass and yet is small enough to be placed on a shelf or floor stand.
The soft dome tweeter module has over and over again proved its ability to deliver a rich and detailed sound, and the module used in the ZENSOR 3 is no exception – delivering an extended frequency response with wide dispersion and low coloration.
SOFT DOME TWEETERWith a clear heritage from our high end series, the lightweight dome tweeter offers best in class resolution. It features timing due to the position of the tweeter, minimised compression and increased power handling, thanks to the vented voice coil former. The damping material under the dome minimises reflections from the pole piece.
WOOFERThe woofer cones are made from a blend of fine grained paper pulp reinforced with wood fibres. This mix makes the cones stiff and light which ensures that every micro detail in the signal is reproduced unfiltered.
The 7 woofer increases the surface area by 15% compared to a 6 woofer and this helps the ZENSOR 3 to deliver the same sound pressure with much less cone excursion, leading to an effortless reproduction of the dynamics in the music.
The 7 woofer features a 4-layer voice coils for maximum control of the wood fibre cone. The low loss construction is ensured by a rigid metal basket and meticulously optimised cone. The result is bass authority, well-controlled reproduction of micro-detail and great transient capabilities.
With a 4 layer voice coil magnet motor system the ZENSOR 3 produces an impressive 17% more B/L compared with speakers using the common 2 layer voice coil. A copper clad aluminum wire ensures optimal reproduction in the mid range, and the power of the magnet motor keep the bass controlled and precise.
LOW LOSS CONSTRUCTIONBy choosing every driver component with great care, we make sure that no signal is lost or changed on its way through the loudspeaker. Through very low mechanical loss, the most fragile sound details, even at very low listening levels, are preserved.
CABINET
CNC machined MDF board, dressed in a top-of-the-class laminate forms the framework of the speaker.
In order to optimise timing, the ZENSORs are fitted with acoustic damping material internally along the sides, top and bottom – but not on the rear side of the front baffle as this creates a more direct contact between woofer and bass port. The audible result is a more precise bass and increased attack in the midrange.
