This preamp is a classic. It is in full working order with all its leds. I have used it as a hifi stereo preamp and phono preamp for years without a problem.
You can easily find all the necessary technical details online including a bench review by Ken Rockwell.
This preamp has been “MOTd” by a workshop before (sticker on the device) and comes with the user manual including the results of the quality assessment tests done at the factory prior to shipping. It also comes with its full electrical schematic.
Having received an offer recently I decided to test is again. Everything works, it still sounds beautiful! However, the Ouput 2 connection has a fault: no sound and 60 or 120 HZ buzz. I have had a detailed look at it and this is a localised damage and there is no trace of water damage or similar issue. A short length PCB track is broken right near the RCA connector of that output. Anyone with decent soldering skill would know how to repair this. This is a very common issue on a device of that age and certainly not one that impacts the sound quality on output 1 in any way. Most people would not use that output and would not notice this issue but I want to be truthful. I have brought down the price in proportion but it was already a competitive price considering how rare this preamp is.
This is a great piece of vintage audio that sounds marvellous. It has a CD input and a tuner input which probably means that it is one of the more recent versions.
If you are looking for a reasonably price high quality audio-gear for your system this is it.
The only thing for sale is the preamplifier and the documentation shown in the pictures.
I am sad to let it go but I have found a more compact – albeit a bit less performant – system I now use.
