Counterpoint SA-20 HYBRID POWER AMPLIFIER. Condition is Used. This amp is very heavy monster, producing 220W per channel at 8 Ohms. It has been fully serviced and works flawlessly. It uses 8 mosfet transistors on each channel with tube pre-stage. Recently serviced by a top hi fi engineer. Sound as a pound condition and a very reluctant sale. Just got far too much gear! Tubes are all excellent. This is one of the very best power amps I have ever owned or heard and it is built like a tank; there are no limits to the quality or the power that this special piece of vintage Californian kit exudes!! Even at low volumes you respect the punch and prowess it delivers! Never had better bass out of even my top noch monobloc power amps! So well built, I guess this unit will happily serve any musical connoisseur for the next 10-20 years easily! A couple of reviews on hi-fi forums….Counterpoint SA-20 vacuum tube/MOSFET hybrid stereo power amplifier. Shows 9.5/10. The power output rating is 220 watts @ 8ohms & 420 watts @ 4ohms. It also has an internal mono-bridging switches which converts this amp to mono having 600 watts. The unit has four 6DJ8 tubes in a three-stage circuit. There is about 26dB of loop feedback, but the output stage is not within the feedback loop. This results in a lower damping factor, but better overall sound. Internal mono-bridge switch converts the SA-20 into a mono amp with 600W/8. Tube rectifier. On-Off switch. Aluminum front panel finished in black or silver anodize. Internally, SA20s have six tubes on a single large motherboard.Cosmetically, it is pretty reasonable overall, but I guess shows its age in some respects. No major dings or scratches. The front panel is simple having only a Power on/off switch, and an LED light which displays Red during warm-up, then green when ready. Warm-up time is approx 1-minute.Due to extreme weight of this beauty, I am only allowing local collection or may meet you half-way.
